A new residential area is being planned on this land located in the western suburbs of Paris. This type of urban redevelopment, called ZAC, is planned very frequently in France, and we are involved in several projects. These are always long projects, with construction periods extending beyond 10 years in some cases. Nowadays, there are next to zero opportunities to trace a lighting master plan for an entire city from a scratch. Nevertheless, plans such as these provide precious chances for us to rethink how city lighting should be idealistically. It also provides perfect case study to develop these theories in practice. ZAC Carrieres has just formulated the master plan and infrastructural preparation is currently underway.
