SHINONOME BEACON TOWER, TOKYO

This project was for the luxury-class condominium Tokyo Bayside. As a guest room located on an upper floor, it commands a majestic view of Tokyo Bay’s nightscape. The interior was luxuriously coordinated by a concierge of Louis Vuitton. My proposal to enliven this exclusive environment was “interior lighting to view the outside.” I could have considered the importance of highlighting the features of the precious interior, but I purposely focused on the comfort residing inside this. I used soft indirect lighting to light most of the spaces. And aiming to create a relaxing environment, I designed preset scenarii for enjoying dinner while viewing the nightscape. I provided a feature that enabled anyone, at the push of a button, to switch from the splendid mode to nightscape viewing mode. Apparently, the guests are enjoying this feature.
