I.C.O.N. worked for the Senses Room produced by Francis van de Walle, one of the flagship events at the EquipHotel exhibition in November 2018 (one of the largest trade fairs in the hotel industry in Europe).
This mock-up room of luxury junior suite is meant to welcome everyone, without exception. The idea is to create a multi-sensory space where the indications of accessibility are invisible so that everyone finds their place and appreciates the comfort. To do this, the producer called various experts and advanced technologies, a lot of teamwork!
Thanks to the support of manufacturing partners, I.C.O.N. realized a comfortable and soft light in the idea of not to be “aggressive” to users but rather being soothing. In addition, it highlights the architecture and the equipment for a better visibility. In the sanitary part, the lighting is also diffuse and thought to avoid glaring whatever the height of the person.
Finally, the suite is also committed to present unique art pieces, the lighting design also had the mission to highlight them.
The sound, also made by I.C.O.N., was composed on a concept of "resonance" to create a relaxing and revitalizing soundscape. Its diffusion was ensured by a special system that could allow the visually impaired to find their way around the space.
