Once again, the sound and light scenario of the opening ceremony of the Nagano Tomyo Festival was entrusted to Akari-Lisa Ishii. This year, Austria and Hungary were highlighted on the Zenko-ji Temple, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Austro-Hungarian Empire and Japan, while maintaining the theme of peace as in every edition.
The show was very well appreciated by the visitors of this festival that received this year more than 700 000 in 5 days, under the artistic direction of Motoko Ishii.
The show was constructed by the latest laser technology and color projections.
It broke down into three parts. First of all, we saw the letters dance on original music before they got together to compose the title and then the words "Pray for Peace". This introduction ended with colorful play of lights and notes of rhythmic music. Then they took us to Austria: their princesses and the Viennese waltzes, by images and music. Hungary then made its turn with musical instruments, flying music, their conductor and ballerinas, before ending, on a percussive sound, the term “peace” appeared in three different languages: German, Hungarian and Japanese.
