The 15th Nagano Tomyo Festival took place under the artistic direction of Motoko Ishii, beautiful light offerings to discover at Zenko-ji Temple.
Once again, the creation of the scenario for the opening ceremony on Feb. 07 was entrusted to Akari-Lisa Ishii. The message of peace remains as always at the heart of the event. On top of that, she added this year a more dynamic scengraphy with the theme dedicated to the Olympic games of Pyeongchang.
The 3-minute show (repeated every 15 minutes) was a great success. The theme of the Winter Olympic Games inspired the designer in terms of music and light effects, more dynamic sequence of images, more "sporty", than the previous years. Skiers, hockey players, bobsleighers ... appeared and slided on the monument. Original drawings by Akari-Lisa Ishii transformed into a laser of last generation took life on colored backgrounds.
