The Mediatec of Bretigny-sur-Orge was conceived in a Finnish spirit by Obras architects. Akari-Lisa Ishii tried to extend this strong concept also in her lighting design.
It was designed to be cocooning and cozy in a color that marries and values the wood.
I.C.O.N. has adapted different lighting methods to different spaces but they all remain in the same spirit.
In this two-floor-construction, the reception and its high ceilings were enhanced by large pendant lights. In the kid’s zone, the same concept is applied but in different shape.
The library area has a large amount of daylight complemented by typical Nordic design suspensions, which fit well to the complex ceiling structure.
Finally, for the reading spaces, we play with recessed and suspended spotlights, on the different hanging heights. In the space devoted to heritage collections, LED strips are discreetly integrated into the furniture.
