FLESQUIERES BATTLE SITE

After 3 years of work, a new lighting consultant project has completed alongside the architect Atelier Lab. The site is called Flesquières Tank Interpretation Center and the Battle of Cambrai.

This museum was literally built around its treasure, "Deborah 51", a tank, unique witness of the battle of Cambrai remained on site. It was therefore necessary to highlight it by the light from above and below: its impressive volume, its complex shape, its dark color, its rusty material ... filled with a difficult history.
The place being "underground", the lighting design was considered to compensate for stuffy feeling with an optimized lighting level adapted to the scenography that presents not only the battle of Cambrai (1917) but also the structure of the various related sites within the territory. The light, well integrated in the construction, values the architectural design, too.
