EXHIBITION "SEVEN HEAVENLY SENSES"

The collection of Qatar's Al Thani royal family includes a significant number of contemporary artworks. Curated by Mr. Olivier Berggruen, an authority on contemporary art, an exhibition showcasing carefully selected modern paintings and objets d'art from the private collection was held at a dedicated gallery in Paris. Unlike previous collection exhibitions with historical themes, the prevalence of large-scale tableaux and abstract sculptures necessitated on-site adjustments to the existing lighting facilities—designed for smaller artworks—such as adding filters and devising alternative installation locations. Achieving a unified aesthetic for such an exhibition, where large-scale works of diverse styles converge, proved challenging. Compounding this, the original concept emphasised sensory stimulation: chocolate was distributed at the entrance, and scent diffusers were placed in an exhibition room. Light, treated as another material, was designed to enhance immersion. It was employed to complement the artworks while seamlessly integrating into the space.
