For this new exhibition at the Christian Dior Museum in Granville, our lighting design accompanies a rich journey blending fashion, archives and family heirlooms. The fashion brand’s signature style is rooted in Granville, in the couturier’s early years (the tranquillity, the sea, joy, celebration, the seaside town...)The lighting showcases works featuring a wide variety of materials and colours whilst meeting conservation requirements. Particular attention has been paid to the complex display cases – a cabinet of curiosities, a ballroom scene and compositions with superposition of dresses, paintings and photographs – in order to achieve a precise balance of light without disrupting the viewing of the various pieces, the black-on-black scenography or the overall ambience. On the ground floor, around the large round table – a new element of the exhibition design – fine lighting adjustments were made to create a warm, almost domestic atmosphere, whilst ensuring the objects remain perfectly visible.
