EXHIBITION "1917"

This exhibition collected works of art created in 1917, the period of the end of the First World War, from various fields. It was a special exhibition with tremendous significance in that it challenged visitors to rethink this period as an important transitional period in art history. One of the main attractions of the exhibition was the largest work of Picasso that even the Centre Pompidou had been exhibit up very few until now, that is the curtain of his original painting that he created for the ballet called “Parade.” The exhibition space was configured in a spiral shape to signify the chaos of the time. It was under much pressure and with great joy that I lit this group of works like twinkling stars. By delivering light beam in the horizontally in a way that resembled war-time trenches, even the lighting suggested the main theme of the exhibition. In order to reproduce the proscenium arch that would have been in front of the curtain in the original theater, I employed special equipment and techniques used in stage lighting.
