DAIWA ROYNET HOTEL KANAZAWEKI NISHIGUCHI

I.C.O.N. has just completed its work on a new hotel for this chain, always alongside the architect Azusa Sekkei. The hotel is located in the modern train station area, but Kanazawa is an old town rich in culture. The lighting of the facades was designed with different variation of white, alternating according to the season. It creates a harmonious and discreet concept, in line with its environment and the local culture. It was also appreciated by the local city scape validation committee. The lighting enhances the architecture, thanks to close collaboration with the architect firm.

The color temperature of white vary from cool in summer to warm in winter to provide a welcoming climate for guests and passers-by. For the last two floors, where the large windows are partially lined with wood panels, an additional effect is added :  the light “caresses”the panels. The small facade on the station side was accentuated as the face of the hotel for visitors. We underlined the silmness and the verticality of the architectural design by light with harmony. The absence of window on this side allowed it.
