The renowned department store aims to offer a well-being pose with brands of excellence, exclusive treatments by beauty experts with tailor-made protocols… Shared by several brands (Dior, Guerlain, Shiseido etc), they imagined an intimate, private and cozy space for their institute located next to the VIP lounge. This is the first time that individual treatment cabins are installed in this historic building. It was yet a technical challenge.
I.C.O.N. worked on the lighting design which include 6 cabins but also the reception, the circulations and the waiting room. For the comfort of users, in each cabin, three lighting scenarios with different nuances and intensities of white light were provided: welcome, care and rest mode. Especially, we paid attention that the client lying on the table is not dazzled when she looks at the ceiling. Obviously, as the lights had to be as discreet as possible, small fixtures were chosen and hidden in coves, niches etc. to highlight the work of the architect, who ended up being very delighted.
The quality and color of light were important in this project and were carefully selected according to the architectural design, to magnify their colors and materials.
Specific technical constraint was the very limited ceiling height, because originally the building wasn’t designed for this kind of development.
