ARTISTIC INSTALLATION CLOUDS, NUIT BLANCHE PARIS

On October 1, Julien Signolet & Akari-Lisa Ishii ritualized the Nuit Blanche 2021 experience with a series of contemplative and sensory art installations, conducive to elevation, installed in the Saint-Leu-Saint-Gilles church. The artist duo together with their great team offered a large audience (despite the rain) a journey from matter to light through the clouds.

Confronted with the heaviness in these times, Julien Signolet lightens it by sculpting alabaster clouds. With the photographer Pascal Croisy, he makes large prints from his sculptures image and sticks on the walls in the streets of Paris, so that the city can breathe through the blue sky pierced in the clouds. It is thanks to one of these Street Art posters on the wall of the church that visitors are initiated into the theme before entering it through another picture.

At the heart of the nave, in the universe of the sound created by I.C.O.N. Music Label, stands an enigmatic monolith of clouds. The visitors are surrounded by the sculptor's hammer sound. It guides them towards the photographic flight imagined together with Julien Baillargeon photographer, around the Virgin statue.

The sound leads the visitors' footsteps to the final installation in the majestic Baltard hall which hosts a staging of clouds sculpted in a shadow theater: an aerial and spiritual installation using a unique video projection technology by Robe which sublimates the luminous and artistic creation of the lighting designer Akari-Lisa Ishii. She plays with the rose window, lit for the first time in the history of the architecture, and even makes it move. She shades colors and texturizes, and gives life to them through transparency many audience admired and took time to assist the sound and light show several times in order to perceive it in its entirety.
