A HOUSE IN OKUIKE

A HOUSE IN OKUIKE

I was asked to create a light-up for a residence in Ashiya, and I immediately visited the site. The construction had just begun and a wild forest was onsite. It was stated in the design to leave as many of the red pines as possible, and the scattering of splendidly formed pines was impressive. A bright light-up is not suitable for such a residential neighborhood nestled secretly in the forest. I went with an idea of using a technique of focusing only on the branches of the pines. That would leak more than enough light to allow the surrounding low-rise trees to emerge from the darkness. I set the equipment to light up automatically and then, at around 10 pm, for the brightness to fade into half so that the light follows a natural rhythm and extinguishes by the middle of the night. Apparently, when the owners return home, they turn off the house lights and relax looking at the garden. In this project I was able to realize soothing light.
