The galleries of this ex-private mansion are a world of wonders and amazement. The Baccarat museum exhibits its collections (chandeliers, glasses, etc.) in elaborate scenography combining classicism and modernity. Between stone stairs and restaurant, each of its rooms has its own universe. At the entrance of the sumptuous ballroom and the "dishes of the gods", we discover "Joy of Light", an installation featuring three chandeliers scenographed by BGC Studio. Akari-Lisa Ishii has created very colorful and kaleidoscopic effects, almost audacious on these classic crystals! Chromatic shadow projections to celebrate the joy of light.
The team dared to apply some industrial aspects in contrast with the crystal, with steel beams and motorized chandeliers, combined with stage-style spotlights to make dynamic lighting. A large standing candelabrum and two slowly rotating chandeliers (one of which also goes up and down) compose the installation. The movement and the effects of light bring gladness.
Large projectors, reminiscent of the theater with their bandors, characterize this atmosphere. Their number and their shape create a strong contrast with the chandeliers but blends with the general scenography. The choice of lighting design was so atypical that the client was doubtfut at first but it was finally welcomed by the whole team after installation. Light primary colors (Red Green Blue) change smoothly and shifted so that objects are lit by all colors in parallel. Thus, at least three colors mix on the surface and the shadows on the ground vary in unison, creating a total immersion in colored light and shadows, to discover.
