The lighting designer duo Akari-Lisa Ishii and Motoko Ishii is invited by organizers to produce the official Maison&Objet Paris fair since 2013. Each year, a new journey of light and sensitivity through artistic and educational installations, with cutting-edge technologies, each time reinvented.
The fair’s theme of the September edition leaded us to explore the possibilities of lighting design by returning to the primary question: What can light do for interior design and high end lifestyle in this new paradigm?
This is why our exhibition for 2022 was based on the theme: funda-mental.
This year's Light Trend experience included artistic, educational, sensitive and of course technological aspects. Our exhibition therefore demonstrated what light can bring to different categories of space: hospitality, retail, workspace, art, as well as a corner presenting the fundamentals of the vocabulary of lighting.
In each of them the visitors were greeted by a virtual host, generated by a solar-powered garment. Avatars of Akari-Lisa Ishii provided objectives and advices for each type of application. They could then look at the demonstration and interact with the physical staff of each zone.
This didactic and futuristic approach intrigued and seduced visitors.
