KATEIGAHO SALON “SPRING EVENING TO ENJOY WITH 5 SENSES” AT UENO INSHOTEI, TOKYO

For avid readers of Kateigaho, a monthly salon is held by the editor. “Insyotei of Ueno Forest,” often featured on the magazine, was chosen as the stage with the theme “Contest between Flower and Light” in spring 2012. It is not until the actual day of the event that one can really know the final form and volume of the flowers.

I provisionally prepared several equipment and materials based on the flower designer's rough sketches beforehand, enjoying the prospect of having to make improvisations. I had already considerable experience in collaborations with ikebana, and this was time enjoyably spent searching for the moments of light that truly “bring life” to flowers. This occasion was more than enough to fulfill my expectations.
