EXHIBITION "PAOLO ROVERSI"

We found out that the master of mode photography’s first solo exhibition in France was to be held at the Musée de la Mode in Paris. Keen to be involved, we suggested a particularly audacious design with a number of lighting proposals that were clearly out of the ordinary. We developed our proposal following a series of meetings at the artist’s Paris studio, Studio Luce. The muted, veiled atmosphere that is characteristic of his works, which use natural light for long exposures, was also conveyed in the lighting design. The visitors can guess the works lit through translucent material stretched over the walls, with accents that artificially reproduced the sun’s rays passing through the windows and doors. As the magnificent prints on paper and the delicate Polaroids were ultra-sensitive to light, each room was lit in a soft, enveloping way, so that the works themselves seemed to radiate. The result, which was meticulously checked by the master, was much appreciated by him, the spectators, and the press alike. The photographer, a great expert on light who has been observing it through his lenses for half a century, had a gaze as demanding as his smile was gentle.
