In this real and imaginary bestiary, our lighting design was intended to showcase more than 120 works, all from the Qatari royal collection, drawn from a variety of cultures and eras, many of which are being exhibited in Paris for the first time. The project is based on subtle lighting, incorporating the play of shadows to reveal the forms, materials and colours, whilst ensuring the pieces and the exhibition route are clearly visible, as well as maintaining an overall balance within the space, without causing glare. Particular attention was paid to the numerous small, incredibly finely crafted artefacts, as well as to the blue graphic patterns, in order to bring out their full chromatic richness.
